Seven faculty members of the Division of Public Health Sciences at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center were recognized for their contributions in various areas, at the first Public Health Services Faculty Awards banquet in Winston-Salem.
Dr. Michelle Naughton received the Teaching and Educational Service Award, presented to the faculty member who has best exemplified the teaching mission through distinguished instruction and mentoring of students and exemplary service in the medical school or graduate programs.
Dr. Michael Miller received the Institutional and Divisional Service Award, presented to the faculty member whose dedicated administrative service and innovative leadership have been instrumental in the success of the division and Wake Forest University Health Sciences.
Dr. Scott Rhodes received the Professional and Community Service Award, presented to the faculty member who has had success in developing exceptional programs to deal with the public-health needs of the greater community and expanding the public-outreach efforts of the division and the institution.
Dr. Sara Quandt received the Outstanding Senior Faculty Research Award, presented to the professor who has made exceptional contributions to the body of knowledge in his or her discipline, through publications, presentations and research grants and collaborations.
Dr. Edward Ip received the Outstanding Mid-Career Faculty Research Award, presented to an associate professor who has made exceptional contributions to the body of knowledge in his or her discipline through publications, presentations and research grants and collaborations.
Dr. Yongmei Liu received the Outstanding Early Career Faculty Research Award, presented to an assistant professor who has made exceptional contributions to the body of knowledge in his or her discipline, through publications, presentations and research grants and collaborations.
Dr. David Goff Jr. received the Faculty Mentoring Award, presented to the faculty member who has made contributions to the division and institution through mentoring and co-mentoring colleagues in their professional and personal development.
