INTERESTS:
Angela currently serves as the Regulatory Monitor for the Action to Control Cardiovascular Risk in Diabetes (ACCORD) trial, a study with 77 clinical centers and 10,251 participants. She also serves as a member of the WFUHS Institutional Review Board.

Angela has a great interest in educating and promoting research professionals and is very active in the Society of Clinical Research Associates (SoCRA). She is the founder of the Northwest NC SoCRA chapter and is currently serving in her second term on the Board of Directors. Most recently, she has been elected as Secretary and will begin serving her two-year term in September 2008.

Additionally, Angela is also a member of the Society of Clinical Trials and serves on their Nominating Committee. She has also presented both oral presentations and posters at their annual meetings. She is also active with the North Carolina BioNetwork Initiative group, serving as consultant and speaker.

In her spare time, Angela is busy working on her new sport, golf, which she loves to share with her husband and two young sons. She also enjoys digital scrapbooking, quilting, crochet, and cross-stitch, and she is very active in her church congregation. She is a true beach-bum at heart and looks forward to a long vacation in the Outer Banks each year.
