RESEARCH:
Dr. Snively’s scientific research focuses on the design, conduct, and analysis of genetic and epidemiologic studies. She is Principal Investigator of the Analytic Center at Wake Forest University for the Women's Health Initiative (WHI) SHARe Genome-wide Association Studies (GWAS), and of the Wake Forest subcontract for the NHLBI sponsored study "Iron Status: A Pathway Analysis in Multiple Ethnicities." She is Co-Principal Investigator with Dr. Lynne Wagenknecht of the Coordinating Center for the NIDDK and JDRF sponsored "Type 1 Diabetes Genetics Consortium." Dr. Snively also collaborates on other multicenter and multidisciplinary studies, including the NHLBI and NHGRI sponsored "Iron Overload and Hereditary Hemochromatosis (HEIRS) Study" (Reboussin D, PI), NIAID sponsored studies of influenza (Poehling, PI), and NINDS sponsored study of Rapid-onset Dystonia Parkinsonism (RDP), “Clinical, Genetic, and Cellular Consequences of Mutations in Na,K-ATPase ATP1A3" (Brashear, PI).
